UAZ has built a prototype of "the Patriot" with methane LPG Bashny.Net

Talk about the popularization of gas fuel in Russia and state support of the sector do not go the first year, but in the specific case has not yet turned. In the absence of infrastructure, the factories offer only prototypes of machines and not rush to run them in series.





Another attempt was chalked UAZ. SUV "Patriot" was equipped with gas equipment of the 4th generation to operate the engine compressed natural gas – methane. Fuel is stored in three metal-composite cylinders with a capacity of 55 liters each.





On a full gas charge "Patriot" rides of up to 250 kilometers. Low cost alternative fuel will save compared to driving on petrol up to 40% of fuel costs.

The car went for test operation until the end of may the Ministry of energy. Drivers must assess such factors as the frequency and duration of refills, the convenience of the location.





"We will verify the gas automobile to universality, and the city – us the willingness to the mass appearance of such vehicles. We'll see how the machine will manifest itself in everyday use in urban environments and how accessible will be the CNG filling station while travelling in different directions. The test results will be taken into account in our further efforts to promote the use of natural gas as a motor fuel," — said Deputy Minister of energy Kirill Molodtsov. published
