Nissan begins production of electric cars budget
The Japanese automobile Corporation Nissan Motor will launch this summer issue of electric car for the Chinese market at a price about 30% less than commercially available models.
The Japanese manufacturer in 2014 released on the Chinese market Venucia E30, an updated version of its electric vehicle Nissan Leaf, announced the imminent launch of a new budget model. The car is being developed jointly with local partner Dongfeng Motor Group and will be sold at a price of about 200 thousand yuan ($30 million). The prices for new vehicles may be reduced to 100-150 thousand yuan, thanks to government subsidies. Nissan will produce a new car factories to China, using local parts, in particular batteries, to reduce production costs. The company aims to expand its share in the Chinese electric car market from 2 per cent in 2015 to 5-10% over the next few years with a new, cheaper model.
The Chinese authorities try to stimulate purchase by the population of electric cars to reduce environmental pollution and create new industries. The government provides up to 55 thousand yuan in subsidies to purchase an electric vehicle. Given the additional incentives from regional authorities, the total amount of subsidies can reach to the buyer 110 thousand yuan. About 330 thousand new electric cars were sold in China in 2015, and Beijing is trying to raise the overall number to 5 million by 2020. published
