Cambodian city of spiders

The Cambodian town of Skuon is known as “Spiderville”, it is infested with spiders, which are everywhere here. Local residents decided not to waste and began to use spiders as food. Crispy bastards fry in deep fat and serve with a pinch of herbs, on a bed of noodles or rice. It's said to taste like a cross between chicken and cod, but it doesn't look very appetizing.

It all started when the government of Pol Pot began to wreak havoc in the South-East Asian countries, people were forced to flee the city and agriculture in rural areas. Because nobody knew how to farm, the poor inhabitants of the country began to starve, and the residents of Skuon had to eat spiders infesting their house. Today, these reptiles are considered a delicacy, and tourists flock to the region to try fried tarantula and feel the taste of rural life in Cambodia.
