Panorama "Defense of Sevastopol"

This panorama, tells of one of the episodes of 349-day heroic defense of Sevastopol - a reflection of the city's defenders storming of 6 June 1855 Author panorama - the founder of Russian panoramic art Franz Roubaud (1856-1928), professor of the class battle painting of the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts, and then full member of the Academy.

Panorama "Defense of Sevastopol 1854 - 1855 years." - One of four in the country - is considered to be an outstanding work of Russian battle painting. Artistic bright with historical truth, it reveals the heroism of the defenders of Sevastopol during the Crimean (Eastern) War 1854 - 1856.
On the 50th anniversary of specially organized Committee decided to create a panorama "Defense of Sevastopol", instructing her to perform outstanding Russian battle painter Franz Roubaud (1856 - 1928). In October 1901 Roubaud, was commissioned to create a panorama, first arrived in Sevastopol.
The sketch was approved in February 1902 on the creation of the web FARubo worked on the outskirts of Munich. Canvas for the panorama was woven in Brussels. May 14, 1905 panorama was opened.
