Antibacterial soap cope with bacterial contamination is not better than usual
A team of scientists has found out how much better antibacterial soap better than usual to cope with bacterial contamination. The researchers tested the effect of triclosan, the most common active ingredient in antiseptic soap, bacteria.
Korean scientists tested the effect of triclosan on bacteria in two ways. In the first case, they studied its bactericidal effect twenty strains. In the second - with the help of twenty healthy adult volunteers compared the ability of antibacterial soaps with triclosan remove bacteria from human hands. The experiment showed that there is no difference between the effects of normal and antibacterial soap in the domestic environment.
Scientists simulated hand washing conditions, subjecting the bacteria exposed to triclosan konentratsiey 0, 3% (maximum allowable law country) for twenty seconds at a temperature of twenty-two degrees and forty degrees.
After nine hours of exposure to triclosan solution and ordinary soap difference was significant. But during handwashing it was not. Dr. Rea (Rhee), author of the study, said the need to solve the problems of unfair advertising and people's faith in the effect of antibacterial soap.
