The largest known bacteria can be seen with the naked eye

The largest known bacteria - a recently discovered single-celled organisms living in the intestinal tract of fish at Lizard Island in Queensland. Prior to that, the bacteria is considered so small that they can not be seen with the naked eye. However, this new giant bacterium reaches the size of a newspaper hyphen. Dr. Esther Engert, a researcher from Indiana University Bloomington and one of those who made the discovery of the giant bacteria, says: "The bacterium is so big that we can attach electrodes to her." Bacteria called Epulopiscium Fishelsoni, and the fish, where she lives, called Acanthurus Nigrofuscus. Theoretically, if we eat this fish, it can be home to a huge bacteria. However, this does not mean that it delayed us for a long time. It is likely she will not be able to survive in such a big body like a human.
