In 2002, the year over the surface of a Swiss lake was built, cloud
The building, which the Italians, the French and the Americans have built over the surface of a Swiss lake Neshat for the International Exhibition of 2002, has no clear boundaries and looks like a large cloud of steam. With 31,400 nozzles that release lake water out as steam, the New York architects Diller and Ricardo Elieabet Scofidio have the effect of floating pavilion over the water. Inside Clouds lost all acoustic and visual perception - only a white mist and noise nozzles let off steam.
The dense layers of mist movement of visitors of the pavilion is a chaotic order. Before entering the cloud, each visitor fills in a questionnaire with several questions, reveals his mood and character, and receives protection from moisture bathrobe, equipped wireless transmitter. The location of each visitor is tracked by the host computer. When unexpected meeting visitors in the fog, their robes covered flush (beginning to be highlighted in different colors). The color and power of the so-called blush glow depends on the results of the processing of personal data indicating the degree of possible sympathy / antipathy of the two visitors. This original solution according to the authors of the project is to help people communicate better inside the cloud with each other. The computer system is designed to service 400 visitors.
