In Ireland, there is Giant's Causeway - 40,000 hexagonal basalt columns

One of the wonders of nature and the most popular tourist destinations in Ireland - Giant's Causeway (Giants) represents about 40,000 interconnected hexagonal basalt columns. They cover the Causeway Coast, located in the north-east of Northern Ireland.

Usually basalt columns formed when cooling lava flow as a three-dimensional network of cracks. Such overhead can be seen not only in Ireland but also in other areas where there were volcanic eruptions of basaltic lava.
