Canary mobile dunes
Maspalomas Dunes are a lot of four square kilometers of continuous sand that is in constant motion. Dunes are located near the spa town of the same name.
The city itself is deployed in the southern part of the island of Gran Canaria, Canary Islands. Maspalomas Dunes emerged from crushed coral in the sand, under the influence of the glacial period. Now, the dunes are moving from two to five meters per year. Since 1987, the year of Maspalomas was given the status of a nature reserve. In the interior of the island with sand dunes bordering another nature reserve - La Charca. This unique lake, which is under pressure from the dunes regularly changes its coastline. The lake is an important stopover for migratory birds.
