In the production of running a pilot batch of processors

Today in production was launched experimental batch-purpose microprocessor Elbrus-8C, with the calculated operating frequency of 1.3 GHz. The computing power of the processor 250 Gflops and made it on technology - 28 nm. Getting ready samples of chips is expected in October 2014.

Microprocessor Elbrus-8C - completely Russian design, which is engaged in JSC "MCST". Its crystal designed for 28 nm technology, has 8 cores with improved 64-bit architecture Elbrus 3rd generation, the cache level 2 total volume of 4 megabytes and level 3 volume of 16 megabytes.

On the basis of this development is planned to organize mass production of servers, workstations and other computer equipment intended for use in public institutions and business structures, has high requirements for information security, as well as for use in high performance computing, signal processing and telecommunications.

By the end of 2014 should appear prototypes of 4-processor server processor-based Elbrus-8C with a capacity of 1 teraflops.

Otherness in domestic processor from its competitors as follows:

 - The ability to perform on each core up to 25 operations in a single clock cycle;
 - The dynamic binary translation technology, which allows to ensure effective execution of applications and operating systems, distributed in binary codes x86;
 - Support for the regime protected computing with special hardware control the integrity of the structure of memory, which allows a high level of information security using its software systems.

The underlying operating system platform Elbrus is the OS "Elbrus" that is based on the kernel Linux. Programming system platform supports languages C, C ++, Java, Fortran 77, Fortran 90.
