Mysterious virus detected in Kolyma
Kolyma in ice permafrost was found a mysterious virus, which was given the name Pithovirus sibericum. He was found at a depth of almost 30 meters. The causative agent belongs to a previously unknown family of viruses called Pithovirus, in which a third of the genes have something in common with other known organisms and only 11 percent with other viruses.
In this regard, there is a possibility that dormant and eradication of the virus in the Arctic can be reborn as the climate warms. However, not everyone believes that such viruses are potentially dangerous.
