WATER DEER (Hydropotes inermis)

WATER DEER (Hydropotes inermis) has no horns and the males powerful upper curved saber fangs 5-6 cm protruding from under the upper lip. This, like in appearance, water deer musk deer recalls. However, they are very different structure of the skull and other anatomical features. Water deer undoubtedly belong to the family of deer, musk deer instead. Distributed in east China, north of the Yangtze valley, and in Korea.
