Fenёk

Fenech (Fennecus zerda) surprisingly original, miniature fox lives in the sandy deserts of North Africa, the Sinai and Arabian peninsulas. Mass animal of 1, 5 kg. The length of the body does not exceed 41 cm, height - 31 cm, while the ears reaching 15cm or more. Coat Fenech gentle, long, top tan cream, pale yellow or almost white, white below; fluffy tail tip black. Fenech does not tolerate prolonged, direct sunlight, and therefore spends the day in a hole, and at night reveals a great agility, the ability to jump high and far. In case of danger, he immediately dug in the sand. Huge ears allow him to catch the lightest rustling produced its victims. Fenech eats small rodents, birds and their eggs, lizards, insects (particularly locust), scavengers, and plants. Swag if need he digs out of the sand. Willingly drinking water, but, apparently, a long time can do without it, as is often found far from water holes. In March - April, after pregnancy, which lasts 50-51 days, the female brings 2 - 5 cubs in the burrow with nesting chamber lined with grass, feathers and fur.
