Mirages
Mirages occur when light rays are refracted in the hot air, showing the items that actually are on the horizon or do not exist. Most often, you can see the water surface, which is in fact a reflection of the sky. This phenomenon is often seen in the desert.
Galo
Like a rainbow, the halo formed around the Sun due to the high moisture content (in this case - the presence of tiny ice crystals) when light rays are refracted repeatedly in the upper atmosphere. It looks like a luminous ring around the sun, in some cases, several of these rings. Sometimes, these rings are formed around the moon (I myself have seen this this winter) and even around bright stars.
Moon Rainbow
Common, solar rainbow is formed from the scattering of sunlight on the water droplets in the air. This phenomenon is most often observed after the rain, or near waterfalls. Much less is possible to observe a lunar rainbow, when the "work" is not a day sunlight, and the night the moon (which, in fact, too sunny). This phenomenon occurs when the moon is near the horizon. One of the places where the lunar rainbow appears often enough - Waterfalls Cumberland (Kentucky), Victoria (see photo) and a few others. Photo waterfall looks a day because of the great exposure - actually pictured the night, the stars visible in the sky, and in the windows of the houses in the distance lights on.
The Belt of Venus
The Belt of Venus phenomenon called called when the evening because of the dusty air between the sky and the horizon appears a layer of pinkish or brownish sky.
Noctilucent clouds
It is located high clouds that reflect sunlight at dusk, when the sun has disappeared behind the horizon. Because of this, it seems that they glow. A similar phenomenon can be observed when the evening after sunset the sun high in the sky flying aircraft - it is seen as a bright spark, because it is illuminated by the sun from the horizon.
Northern Lights
According to scientific it is called "Aurora Borealis» (Aurora Borealis) and observed closer to the poles. These "special effects" are due to the ionization of the upper atmosphere by high-energy particles of the solar wind. The spectacle is very beautiful, I have a child lived in Karelia, where it can be seen quite often ...
Colored moon
So sometimes our satellite looks because of the presence in the atmosphere of smoke, dust, as well as eclipses.
Vymyaobraznye clouds
Often, these clouds appear in the storm front, showing that the storm is about to begin. How are they formed, scientists do not know exactly.
St. Elmo's fire
These outbreaks are like lightning at the end of a sharp object, such as the top of the mast, the top of the lighthouse and the projecting parts of planes. It manifested such illumination because of the electrification of the ambient air during a storm. The name was in honor of St. Elmo - the patron saint of sailors. The photo - a wing of the plane with the lights of St. Elmo.
Fire vortex
When a tornado passes close by burning wood or other sources of fire, formed a fiery whirlwind. Sometimes it arrives simply a very high temperature, without the presence of an open flame.
I have everything.
