In Kamchatka, we found a unique white killer whale

Scientists first discovered in the wild adult white killer whale. It is noteworthy that it happened in Russian territorial waters off the coast of Kamchatka. White male nicknamed Iceberg.

White whales of different species sometimes periodically observed by scientists, but all previously known white orcas were young, including the Canadian-born aquarium, who died later in 1972.

The white whale is a two-meter dorsal fin, which means that he is at least 16 years, but the fact that a few ragged fin suggests that he even more than 16 years. Killer whales become sexually mature at the age of about 15 years, and males can live up to 50 or 60 years.

According to scientists, Berg received his relatives. The fact that the killer whales often stay with their mothers for life, and he was seen in a group of their own kind, and all the while kept close to one of the individuals.

The reason for his unusual pigmentation is not yet known. Scientists will soon want to try to carry out a biopsy, but there will simply keep a close surveillance.
