In February, he was arrested the most wanted drug lord in Mexico Joaquin "Shorty" Guzman, the legend of the underworld, who in 2009 made the list of the world's billionaires, the magazine "Forbes". Guzman was a list of the most wanted criminals in Mexico and the United States and led the "Sinaloa Cartel".
Authorities tracked down a long Guzman. Eventually it became clear that Guzman hiding somewhere near the city of Culiacan - the capital of Sinaloa. In mid-February 2014, investigators have established seven houses, which probably could hide the leader of the cartel, together with his entourage. All of them were built on the same principle: the inputs are protected by reinforced doors and bathrooms were of underground tunnels in the city's sewers.
Photographer Daniel Becherril looked into the secret tunnels "Shorty", which he often used to escape and drug trafficking.
