Bloodless duel (3 photos)
This was possible thanks to the special bullets made of wax. In the presented photos 1909 present: Dr Graeme M Hammond, the first president of the Amateur Fencing League of America and Mr. CB Miller (less well-known friend of the Sports Club of Columbia University). The action took place in New York. Participants duel wore heavy leather coats and masks. The shots were fired by a command from a distance of 60 feet (18 meters). This duel ended in a draw, both players "killed" each other. In addition to single duels in the early 20th century held the whole competition shooting wax bullets. They lasted for 6 days and had their complicated rules with the point system.
