Monsanto is a charming village on the hillside in Portugal. It houses sandwiched between giant boulders and tiny streets, prorezannyei through rocks. Appearance of the village has not changed for centuries.
for Monsanto in 1938 as voted for "the most Portuguese village in Portugal" at the national competition and, since then, building restrictions have allowed the village to be a living museum. There is not easily accessible by public transport, but the atmosphere of the village is worth such a journey.
