Collection of butterflies Jim de Riviera
Canadian photographer Jim De Rivière (Jim des Riviéres) released a collection of large-format images of exotic butterflies found in various parts of the Canadian city of Ottawa. It pays special attention moths and moths.
Photographer managed not only to appreciate the beauty of these winged creatures, but also much to learn about them. Passion came to him about two years ago. Studying and taking off butterflies, he found that some species of moths are much larger and more beautiful butterflies. And much more nocturnal species in the vicinity of Ottawa.
Since then, he moved to a small house deep in the woods and devoted himself to the study of the existing species of butterflies. Using traps, Jim de Riviere attracts them with a black light fluorescent lamps.
A selection of photographs from the collection of the photographer is currently on display at the exhibition in the Grand American Museum of Natural History in New York, which will last until September 29, 2013.
