Vydra- basketball
Regular exercise can work wonders at times. A zoo staff in Portland came to the conclusion that basketball prolongs life, even animals. Sea otter named Eddie found off the coast of California 15 years ago. The animal, which suffers from arthritis in his elbows, carried away by chance playing the ball, and the daily training led to fantastic results: otter learned how to throw the ball in the basket, and it makes it almost like a professional basketball player.
The training not only helped the animal to cope with a chronic disease, but also to become an old-timer: veterinarians concluded that the otter has long survived their relatives. Now the zoo wants to build a basketball court for special performances, and one of the NBA is considering making an otter their mascot.
