King Penguin erected knighted (6 photos)

The Norwegian Royal Guard made a knight penguin Nils Olav III (Nils Olav III), a resident of Edinburgh Zoo. In 2005, King Penguin was promoted to colonel honor guard, as he has several medals for good conduct and long service life.





The ceremony of consecration took place in Edinburgh, and began with loud speeches and fanfare. Penguin Nils Olav III examined the construction of the troops and the soldiers checked the Norwegian Guard uniforms, arrived in Edinburgh to attend the ceremony. The Knights made Niels British Major General Loudon Eun (Euan Loudon) the name of the King of Norway Harald V (Harald V). Eun Loudon solemnly laid a royal sword to both black and white shoulder Niels, and hung a sign on his fin knight differences.











The current Penguin, the second of its kind, which bears the name of Nils Olav. The first king penguins in Edinburgh appeared in the early XX century, when the Norwegian polar explorers gave a few birds to the local zoo.
