Psychological age: Who is older, the West or the post-Soviet countries?

Introduction
Is it possible to measure the psychological age of an entire society? Western countries focused on individual freedom and post-Soviet countries that retain collectivist values are developing along different trajectories. We will try to understand what traits can be considered signs of maturity of society and who is older in this context.
Signs of psychological maturity of society
1. Individual responsibility
In the West, personal responsibility is a fundamental principle. In post-Soviet countries, the focus on external circumstances is more often maintained: the government, the economic situation, and neighbors are to blame.
2. Flexibility of thinking
The modern world requires adaptation. Western society is quicker to embrace new ideas, technologies and values. In post-Soviet countries, innovation is often met with wariness, and traditional thinking patterns dominate.

3. Attitudes to errors
A mature society sees mistakes as opportunities for growth. Western culture encourages experimentation, and failure is seen as a developmental stage. In post-Soviet countries, mistakes are often associated with shame and fear of judgment.
4. Emotional intelligence
Western society invests in awareness and emotion management, and developed countries focus on mental health. In post-Soviet countries, the emotional state is considered something personal, discussion of psychological problems is rare.
5. Perceptions of power
In a mature society, power is an instrument of governance, not a symbol of authority. In Western countries, the government is seen as a service, in post-Soviet countries – as the highest authority, which is difficult to question.
6. Economic autonomy
In the West, the cult of entrepreneurship and independence. In post-Soviet countries, a significant part of the population relies on state subsidies and stable employment in large structures.
Where is the psychological adult?
Both types of society have strengths and weaknesses. Western society as a whole is more adaptive, but post-Soviet countries value sustainability and traditional ties, which also have value.
