Why pensioners should stay busy for the maximum number of years

Can pensioners work? This question is not quite right. People are interested in something else: is it worth working after retirement? This is an important moment for many people who are at the crossroads of retirement age. At the age of 60, most people leave their main job. Today we talk about how this care affects the lives and well-being of people.

No one wants to think about retirement. The autumn of life always seems so far away and as if it were not real. Nevertheless, it is coming. This period should not be considered bad. It has a lot of nice bonuses. For example, a person already has enough experience to make sound and calibrated decisions. Usually, by old age, people already know how to set priorities correctly.

Speaking of old age, it is worth mentioning that it looks different in the CIS countries and in the West. Here we know the lives of typical grandparents and their activities. Usually women leave their jobs, but still remain busy. Housework doesn't go anywhere. Washing, cleaning, cooking... All these things remain relevant until the very end. If people live in a village, then to all this is added the care of the garden and household.

But that's not the case with men. When they leave their primary job, they often feel lost and unnecessary. In the past, when concepts of male and female housework were more pronounced, men simply withered after retirement. This was especially evident in the generation whose youth fell in Soviet times.

Glad that the situation is a little different now. Families share household responsibilities equally, and there are many more hobbies in people’s lives that are not related to work. So, for example, now people pay much more time and attention to their health and appearance. This applies to both young people and those who have overcome the 50-year mark.

Sports, hobbies, housework... All this remains after retirement. Travel is often added to this, for example. In youth, people have little free time, and finances often sing romances. But in a more mature period, all this becomes more. Why not take this opportunity to see the world?

Experts advise you to keep your mind as long as you can. This will significantly slow the onset of dementia and other “joys” of old age. The ideal occupations for developing the mind and maintaining it in tone are the study of foreign languages, as well as playing musical instruments. It is proved that these areas of activity are complex and interesting enough to keep our mind alert. Music and languages can be studied forever. There is no limit to perfection in this regard.

Life wisdom and editorial advice The life of many to old age slows down. However, the point is not that people have completely diminished strength and energy. Sometimes it is just a habit, as well as a cliched perception of the world and yourself in it. They say that everyone becomes weak and slow by old age. Why should I be an exception?

But that's the point. It all depends on how we think and how we perceive ourselves in this world. Of course, old people need to take a break a little more often than young people. However, they can engage in the same activity and with almost the same intensity.

Especially important for a mature person of retirement age is taking care of his body and mind. The first includes moderate exercise, daily jogging, proper nutrition and healthy sleep. The second involves reading, learning something new and traveling. If these areas of your life are well filled, you will live a long and very joyful life, even if there is no work in the usual sense of the word.
