Modern jeans are not the same as they were in the 70-80s.
My friends and I were talking about jeans. Now it is so easy to buy them in any store. Today’s young people have no idea how hard jeans have been. It was a time when everyone could be divided into those who had jeans and those who dreamed of buying them.
Modern jeans are not the same as before. Unfortunately, these original models are no longer used. Our first jeans were most often bought from jeans. Among them were firms such as Lee, Rifle, Montana, Wrangler and Levi’s. Now some of these brands are also popular. However, the jeans themselves are not the same for a long time - too narrow, torn or too short.
Previously, jeans were sewn on conscience: from real cotton, with double seams, branded buttons and rivets. There was a label in the back that indicated they were real jeans. They were made of real dense fabric, so they were worn for a long time.
When we were young, it was fashionable to paint jeans. Most often they were painted in cold water and more than once. After this painting on the legs could remain blue. But everyone got their own original pair of blue jeans. What we didn't do then to look stylish! By the way, some of my friends deliberately did not wash jeans for six months to make them properly “dry”. At that time, worn jeans were considered the coolest fashion trend.
My favorite brand is Levi’s jeans. They are very practical, reliable, and classic models never go out of fashion. These are the first jeans made in the United States. The company was founded a long time ago, in 1853.
In the early 80s - late 90s about Levi's jeans could only dream. These could only be obtained from abroad. However, those who brought them to our region demanded a considerable amount for such an exclusive. It’s hard for an ordinary student to save up for these — when I was young, I went to part-time jobs to raise money to buy jeans. I agree, you need to dream about something more serious, but at that time I wanted to buy jeans, and only Levi’s!
Jeans are very easy to buy now. Real models are still expensive and there is “a lot to pay for”. The rest of the jeans look more like a fake than something worthwhile. In modern jeans add spandex or polyester. Because of this, they stretch and eventually lose their shape. The jeans are not there, and the young people will not understand why.
Now jeans are sewing for everyone. As a result, there are many fakes and low-quality models. People buy and don’t even know what they’re wearing. What kind of models? Some of them sit like tights. You can often see leaky jeans: why even buy them? “Go sew up your pants,” my grandmother would say. I agree with her on something.
That wasn't the case when I was young. Although modern jeans are already sold with scuffs and with special painting. But that's not it - just imitation of a bygone era. Whatever it is, a real classic - it is a classic that is always relevant.
Good jeans were sewn before: cloche, pyramids, straight, narrowed - choose any style. It was hard to find them, but when I bought them, I knew they were yours for a long time. Who knows, maybe my friends and I are just a bit of a nostalgic. What do you think, dear readers? "Site"Are the jeans getting better or worse? Are there other places where you can buy those real jeans from the 80s?
