Amazing production of cork in Spain

Portugal and Spain have long been world leaders in the production of wine corks, while not losing its positions even today, during the plastics, because a good wine the old-fashioned cork stoppers, which are made of the bark of the cork oak.





The mass production is concentrated in the South of Spain in the region of Los Alcornocales. The cork oak is grown in the local forests and export to countries where wine is produced, is almost indispensable because of the unique bark. It is collected from each trunk every nine years by conventional methods, which were used as early as ten years ago.





Then using "arriero" (cabs on horses and donkeys) bark transportyou to the factory where raw material is prepared from the final product — a common tube.
