The rarest types of ancient weapons
We invite you to get acquainted with some of the less common types of cold weapons. Some specimens are quite interesting.
Makuahutl is an Aztec weapon that resembles a sword. Its length, mainly, reached 90-120 cm. Along the wooden blade fixed pointed pieces of volcanic glass (obsidian). The wounds from the use of these weapons came out horrific due to the combination of a sharp edge and dentures that tore away the flesh.
Tepustopils - by design, this is an Aztec weapon that looks like a maquahutl, but is made in the form of a spear, that is, with a tip the size of a palm and a pen in human growth. Here, too, pointed parts of obsidian are used, which frame the wooden base.
Kpinga is a throwing knife with a pair of blades, which was in honor of the warriors of the Azanda tribe in ancient Nubia. The knife is 55 cm long. From the base to the sides diverged 3 iron blades, which were to maximize the defeat inflicted on the enemy.
