In Senegal there is an unusual island made of shells
The Senegalese village of Joal-Fadiout is one of the most interesting places on the planet. Despite the fact that snow in Africa, no, walking through her blinding white streets, tourists hear all the time crunching under my feet. The reason is simple – the island Fadiout, which is a fishing village made entirely from shells.
Joal-Fadiout is considered the most beautiful place in Northern Senegal. It is located on the mainland which connects the two 800-meter long wooden bridge to the island Fadiouth. According to legends, it appeared from the shells of shellfish, which for a long time hunted by the locals.
Gutted shell mixed with the roots of mangroves, reeds and huge baobab trees, forming a monolithic block island.

Many tourists like themselves not just incredible structures, but also the local cemetery. In fact, it is on yet another island, which is connected to Radiocom bridge. Almost all the graves here – the Christian, however, there are a couple of Muslim graves.
