Scientists suggest that the flooding of parts of Europe has already begun

Floods in the UK — new evidence of threats of flooding of Europe by the middle of this century. This was stated by the Professor at the Free Brussels University, Jean-Pascal van Ypersele, Vice-President of the intergovernmental panel on climate change.

"What we see today in the UK is only the beginning, can be considered a warning," he says. As the expert says, while flooding in the UK is even not the sea-level rise, but "only a significant increase in rainfall intensity", but all consequences of one reason — the climate changes and melting Arctic ice.

However, he notes that the intergovernmental panel on climate change for more than a decade ago predicted the first result of global warming in the Atlantic — more mild winters with heavy rainfall, more hot and dry summer in all the surrounding regions.

In this regard, according to his calculations in the next 3 decades, Europe needs to prepare for the system floods due to precipitation and exit of the river banks.
