Fukushima develops renewable energy

Centre for renewable energy in Fukushima was opened, three years after the tragedy at the nuclear plant in the earthquake and tsunami. Most Japanese refers negatively to nuclear energy. This led to the fact that the 48 commercial nuclear reactors in Japan are offline, but renewable energy sources are becoming more popular.

Although RES are now supporting and auxiliary sources of electricity, the situation is beginning to change. Opened R&D center will be the flagship in major project to develop the world's most advanced energy technologies, whose main objective is the conversion of electricity largely from renewable sources. The Institute has installed solar and wind power.

The centre will develop advanced technologies of renewable energy for application in various fields. These new technologies will enable innovation in solar energy, including increasing efficiency of energy conversion, and systems for the generation of wind energy with a laser. The development will support major companies such as Hitachi, Sharp and Panasonic.
