Archaeologists have found the largest dinosaur
Scientists believe that it is a new species of titanosaurs, a huge herbivore that roamed the Earth at the end of the Cretaceous period.
Based on the giant bones, experts suggest that the height of the ancient animal was 20 m and the length of the dinosaur was 40 m. the weight of the largest herbivores was 77 tons. The remains were discovered by farm worker in the desert near La Flecha, about 250 km West of Trelew, Patagonia. A team of paleontologists have dug up about 150 bones, which belonged to 7 extinct dinosaurs. Researchers have stated: "Given the size of these bones, which surpass any of the previously known giant animals, the new dinosaur is the largest animal known on Earth." By all accounts, a giant herbivore lived in the forests of Patagonia between 95 and 100 million years ago.
