For the moon of Saturn, NASA chose a submarine

Employees of NASA approved a number of projects of the future, aimed directly at the study of the cosmos. All ideas will be implemented in the framework of the program, which is meant to create conceptually innovative study of outer space. The space Agency wants to launch an automated submarine to Saturn's moon. It should help to explore the methane oceans on the surface of a specified space object.

It is well known that Titan's hydrocarbon lakes that have no analogues in our Solar system. The Earth, but none of the known celestial bodies vast open liquid surfaces has not. Maybe new information about those water bodies that are present on Saturn, will help to understand how on Earth life originated.

The jet propulsion laboratory at NASA have suggested the use of Titanium for a small quadcopter that is able to separate from the balloon or lander to take surface samples and then return to charge the batteries. As experts say, the autonomy of this project may find application in special helicopter projects on Enceladus and Mars.

Note that in the list of approved ideas include: building on Mars earth greenhouses to grow food, capture various celestial bodies with the help of specially designed devices and other futuristic ideas. To carry out their plans the organization intends to spend 100 thousand dollars. In this case, if the authors of its projects prove their full effectiveness, the organization will then allocate an additional 500 thousand dollars.
