Miniature Rosetta probe went into orbit of the comet
After ten years and four billion miles, Rosetta successfully entered the orbit of the comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko.
Miniature probe, doing some maneuvers, flying beside the comet at a slow speed, 1m/s. Rosetta is in orbit around the comet 67P for more than a year, using 20 tools for data collection. Scientists hope the mission will reveal more information about the origin of comets and other celestial bodies.
If all goes according to plan, the probe will send a small landing craft on the icy surface of the celestial wanderer in November. One of the surprises in the run-event was that the form of the comet was strange: two parts joined together. Recently the device measured the temperature of the comet and determined that the average surface temperature is about -70 ° C.
