Pool with views of the Aurora

Hofsos — a little fishing village in the North of Iceland, consisting of a small traditional Icelandic houses built in the beginning of the last century. A few years ago, there opened a pool, the draft of which was designed by the architectural company BASALT Architects. Recreation complex, in addition to the pool, includes facility for visitors and two whirlpools. The facility is located so that from it a view of the mountains, the Atlantic ocean and the nearby island of Drangey, in the famous Icelandic sagas. Exterior lighting of the complex is in a minimum volume, so that visitors could see the stars and Aurora, which are often seen in winter.
