MiG-29K for the Russian Navy
According to the Defense Minister, carrier-based fighters MiG-29K will be delivered to the Navy (Navy) Russia. The MiG-29K will carry military service, including on the aircraft carrier "Admiral Kuznetsov».
"There is a decision of the Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation, which allows the delivery of these aircraft for the Russian Navy," - said vice-president of the United Aircraft Corporation, the general director of the RAC "MiG" Mikhail Pogosyan.
The Russian delegation, he attended the February 19 ceremony of adopting the first batch of the Indian Navy MiG-29K.
According to him, the MiG-29K will also be on combat duty on aircraft carrier "Admiral Kuznetsov" along with the Su-33. "The program of MiGs-29K aircraft will provide the opportunity to develop not only in India but also in Russia," - said Pogosyan.
Earlier it was reported that the Russian Navy will begin in 2010. The purchase of a batch of at least 24 deck fighters MiG-29K and MiG-29KUB for deployment on an aircraft carrier "Admiral Kuznetsov».
Who are the Navy carrier-based fighter Su-33, whose service ends in 2025. According to the deputy head of the Center for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies, Konstantin Makiyenko, these aircraft have been developed by request of India in the framework contract for the sale of the country after the modernization of the aircraft carrier "Vikramaditya" (former "Admiral Gorshkov"). The Indian side has paid the contract price of $ 730 million development and delivery of 16 such fighters. According to him, in view of India's order production of the MiG-29K is economically much more defensible than the production of new Su-33.
The length of the MiG-29K - 17 m, height - 5 m, take-off weight 17, 8 tons, the maximum speed - 2, 3 thous. Kilometers per hour (M = 2, 17), the length of the runway 110-195 m, in service 30 -millimetrovaya gun GSH-301 (150 rounds ammunition).

Single MiG-29K and MiG-29KUB double are multifunctional fighter generation "4 ++", designed to solve the problems of air defense ship connections, gaining dominance in the air, hitting surface and land targets with precision weapons day and night in all weather conditions. < br />
Ship MiG-29K / KUB - basic aircraft is new unified family, which also includes the MiG-29M / M2 and MiG-35 / MiG-35D.
Basing MiG-29K / KUB is provided on aircraft carriers with a displacement of 28 000 tonnes, equipped with a springboard takeoff and landing arresting gear, as well as on the ground airfields.
The main technical and technological innovations applied on the MiG-29K / KUB:
- Improved airframe with a share of composite materials for about 15%;
- Folding wing with improved mechanization, providing improved takeoff and landing characteristics;
--By-wire aircraft control system with quadruple redundancy;
- Significantly reduced radar signature;
- Increased weapons load stored at eight external hard points;
- Increased fuel capacity and the availability of in-flight refueling;
- The ability to provide refueling other aircraft fuel in the fuel equipment unit refueling PAZ 1MK.
MiG-29K / KUB, like other planes unified family, have improved performance and increased reliability of assemblies, systems and components. Compared with the previous fighters, flying resource MiG-29K / KUB increased more than 2 times, and flight hour cost is reduced by almost 2, 5 times. MiG-29K / KUB operated without overhauls aircraft. The power plant includes two engines RD-33MK with increased thrust power, equipped with smokeless combustion chamber and new electronic control system with full responsibility (like FADEC). The engines have a modular structure and have increased reliability and service life.
The avionics of the MiG-29K / KUB is based on the principle of open architecture based on standard MIL-STD-1553B.
The fighter has multi multi-mode pulse-Doppler airborne radar (radar) "Zhuk-ME" manufactured by "Fazotron-NIIR". Radar equipped with a slit array. Compared with the previous generation radar "Zhuk-ME" has wider range of viewing angles in azimuth, twice the detection range, less weight and higher reliability. "Zhuk-ME" provides tracking up to 10 air targets and the simultaneous firing of rockets four of them.
MiG-29K / KUB equipped with modern multi-channel optical-location station and a system of targeting passive war-head missiles.
You can set the containers on a plane with infrared and laser sighting equipment for illumination of ground targets.
Avionics' open architecture allows on-demand installation on aircraft of new equipment and weapons of Russian and foreign production. The MiG-29K / KUB equipped with a built-in automatic control and registration of complex "Karat" on-board video monitoring system, computerized flight task entered into a complex avionics, as well as an autonomous system of energy production equipment for ground tests without running the main engines.
The complex consists of weapons guided missiles "Air-air" and "air-to-surface", guided aerial bombs, rockets, aerial bombs and built-in 30-mm cannon. Upon request of the weapons can be introduced new models of aircraft weapons.
Single and double versions have identical equipment and weapons, as well as a high degree of commonality of design.
