The First World War (28 July 1914 - 11 November 1918) - one of the most large-scale military conflict in human history.
The immediate cause of the war was the Sarajevo assassination 28 June 1914 the Austrian Archduke Franz Ferdinand of nineteen Serb student Gavrilo Princip, who was a member of a secret organization "Young Bosnia" fighting for the unification of all South Slavic peoples into a single state.

The First World War has spurred the development of new weapons and means of warfare. Were first used tanks, chemical weapons, masks, anti-aircraft and anti-tank guns. Widespread airplanes, machine guns, mortars, submarines, torpedo boats. Sharply increased firepower troops. There are new types of artillery: anti-aircraft, anti-tank, infantry support. Aviation became an independent combat arm, which was divided into reconnaissance, fighter and bomber. Any tank forces, chemical forces, air defense forces, naval aviation. Increased role of engineer troops and reduce the role of the cavalry. Also there was a "trench tactic" of war in order to harass the enemy and the depletion of its economy, working on military orders.
