Brazilian authorities have come up with an original way to help prisoners to redeem himself, and at the same time to do something useful for society. In the largest prison Santa Rita do Sapucaí installed bikes, which can be engaged to generate electricity. Charged batteries are used to power the next street lamps.
For every 16 hours of training on the simulator at the prisoner is taken away one day of his sentence. Working on bikes enjoys popularity among prisoners.
