James Doran-Webb for many years lived in the Philippines and creates amazingly realistic sculptures of horses from driftwood that he can find on the coast. Work in full-scale look great: graceful animals seem now pluck off and will rush at full speed.
Work on each sculpture - it is hard work, because James is necessary to select those pieces of wood that would accurately transmit every muscle in the horse to make it look realistic. The wooden sculpture is very accurately conveys the natural position of the animal.
Interest in working with wood originated James Doran-Webb in childhood. He often came to the studio, where his parents worked, restoring antique furniture. By the time he became a teenager, James perfectly versed in rare things, and also mastered the skills necessary furniture makers: he knew how to shave, doing carving and learned everything about the intricacies paint the finished product.
In 2005, a talented artist decided to experiment and started using driftwood found in the sea, for the production of individual pieces of furniture. But the production of animal sculptures was his real hobby that we dare to admit he has mastered perfectly.
