The new record of continuous flight - Zephyr

The device, developed by a British company Qinetiq, in the class of unmanned aerial vehicles set three world records at once!

Zephyr is equipped with solar panels that allow you to charge the whole day and night to expend the energy reserves. As a result, the plane flew without landing more than fourteen days (for accuracy - 336 hours, 22 minutes and 8 seconds). This is the first record. Another record was the height. Zephyr climbed to an altitude of 21,562 meters, which also turned out to previously inaccessible for airplanes in this class, as, indeed, himself a continuous flight for aircraft weighing from 50 to 100 kg. Zephyr is made from ultra-light carbon fiber, and the solar panels are made of superfine silicone, the thickness of which does not exceed a few tens of microns.
