And during the opening of the Summer Olympic Games, yachts sailed along the Seine, on board of which teams of all countries were placed.



The symbol of the Olympic Games 2024 – freedom On the banks of the Seine were installed huge screens that broadcast everything that happened on the yachts for viewers. The march of the yacht procession was 6 kilometers from Austerlitz Bridge to Trocadero Square. The national teams bypassed the islands of Saint-Louis and Cité, on which the famous Notre Dame Cathedral of Paris stands. We also visited several locations where the competitions will be held: Concorde Square, the Grand Palace, Alexander III Bridge, the House of the Disabled and others.



The main symbol of the Olympic Games is the Olympic flame. It is lit during the opening of the Games and extinguished at the end. To bring fire to the destination, according to tradition, a baton is arranged, where each of the participants passes it to the next through a certain distance. In 2024, 11,000 people took part in such a relay in Paris. Among them were ordinary citizens, students, post office workers, former prisoners of Nazi camps and astronauts, as well as celebrities. Among the athletes was Sergey Bubka – the famous Ukrainian track and field athlete, champion of the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul. The main Olympic flame, which this year was presented in the form of a balloon, was lit by French athletes - track and field athlete Marie-Jose Perec and judoka Teddy Riner.



The artistic director of the opening ceremony of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris in 2024 was the director and actor Thomas Jolly. The official song of the games was the composition Parade by French composer Victor Le Mans. The concert program was opened by American singer and actress Lady Gaga, who tried to convey the atmosphere of a cabaret with her performance. Also a pleasant surprise for Parisians and guests was the appearance on the stage of the legendary Celine Dion. Another surprise for the audience was a fashion show from young French designers.



Another symbol of the 2024 Olympics: Frigi's mascot. This is the mascot of two red Phrygian caps. One of them has a prosthesis instead of a leg, which symbolizes the Paralympic Games. These characters have no other distinguishing features. The Phrygian cap has long been a symbol of freedom. This is a triangular hat with a sharp tip that hangs. This headdress appeared in the Middle East, later the French revolutionaries made it red. It is now a symbol of freedom throughout the world.

The Summer Olympics in Paris will last from July 26 to August 11, 2024, while the Paralympic Games will begin on August 28 and end on September 8, 2024.
