I wanted to upgrade the plumbing in the house, but prices jumped by 70%.

Plumbing prices In Russia, they grow by leaps and bounds. To buy a toilet, sink or mixer, today you will not only have to spend a lot, but in principle to find the right product. According to experts, this is only the beginning. Prices will increase by at least 1.5 times. But why is this happening and what do ordinary people do? Editorial "Site" He will try to answer these questions.

I recently told you why the economic crisis is inevitable for Russia. The increase in prices for plumbing is only one of the alarming bells for Russians. Let’s figure out why prices have soared by 70% and will continue to rise.

Nobody expected this to happen, as the plumbing market has long been dominated by Russian manufacturers. At the same time, the share of imported goods was no more than 15%. However, according to statistics, prices rose every year before the invasion of Ukraine. The percentage increase was not very noticeable.

However, there are still segments that depend entirely on imports. These are, for example, various mixers. Russia simply does not produce them or uses foreign parts for assembly on the territory of the Russian Federation. China remains the main supplier, so Russian-Chinese relations play a major role in this issue.

Rising prices for toilets, sinks and baths are directly related to increasing the cost of raw materials. Due to sanctions, some supplies have been stopped altogether. For example, earlier Russia bought clay for ceramics in Ukraine. This is now impossible for obvious reasons. Russian manufacturers are looking for new suppliers in Russia.

And there are. However, the demand grew so sharply that there were problems with logistics. And it will take time to solve them. Consumers are concerned that the quality of goods will deteriorate because of this. So far, it is difficult to give an unequivocal answer to this question. After all, now much more attention is focused on the price of plumbing.

The higher the cost of raw materials, the more expensive baths, toilets and sinks will cost. And manufacturers are constantly raising prices, as the exchange rate jumps, and the market is raging instability. European suppliers have long since left Russia. Instead, raw materials will need to be purchased from Chinese and Turkish companies. And they, in turn, increase prices, because they understand how big the demand is. It's just business.

What has risen in price in the plumbing market has grown in price not only toilets and sinks. To date, the cost of showers and equipment for them has increased significantly (30-70%). According to statistics, this growth is at least 10 times higher than last year’s situation. You will also have to spend a lot if you want to buy various accessories for the bathroom. For example, dispensers and dispensers. Prices for towel drying are growing dynamically.

In general, all this suggests that doing repairs in Russia today is not just expensive, but very expensive. So this idea should be postponed until better times. But will they ever come? The question, of course, is rhetorical. In this situation, it is pointless to advise anything.

A large percentage of Russians still live in conditions that are far from the modern benefits of civilization. And about any new toilets and sinks residents of the hinterlands do not even dream. It is safe to say that the increase in prices for plumbing does not bother them in principle.

We cannot tell what to do for those who want to live comfortably. It all depends on the position of each person living in Russia. Someone chooses to emigrate, and someone just continues to endure. I wonder what category you belong to?
