How to clean the pile mats of the car cabin

Some owners of equipment choose pile automats. They are more difficult to care for, but provide maximum comfort in the cabin. The easiest way to care for rubber mats in the car. But even if they are made of pile, then cleaning the surface is possible even at home. The process consists of thoroughly eliminating dust and washing mats.

Cleaning the pile mats
It is best to cope with dust, pebbles and other pollution with a hard brush. It can be a hand brush or a vacuum cleaner nozzle. With this tool, the fibers of the pile are raised and dry contamination is eliminated.

Pebbles and dust should be swept to the edge of the mat, and then use a vacuum cleaner. It is better for these tasks that a car vacuum cleaner is suitable. It has compact dimensions and special nozzles for particularly narrow places.

During cleaning, you will have to move the seats. This should be done with extreme care so as not to damage the wires. This is especially true for yellow cables that go to airbags.

Cleaning with a cleaner
Manually remove all stains will not work, so you may need a cleaner. A special agent is sprayed on the surface, which must be left for a few minutes. Such a tool dissolves the dirt, after which the surface is washed with a vacuum cleaner. The pressure should be maximum.

The cleaning process at the car wash consists of such stages:
  • applying the cleaning agent to the surface;
  • treatment of particularly contaminated areas with a brush;
  • flushing with water;
  • removal of moisture (drying).

The last stage (drying) is especially important. If you do not dry the mats, then an unpleasant smell will appear in the cabin. In addition, excess dampness contributes to the appearance of mold, which is also not allowed.

At home, you can dry automats simply by leaving them outside or hanging them on linen ropes. You need to dry the mats vertically. At self-service car washes, there are special vacuum cleaners with reverse traction function that blow out warm air.
