In Spain there are world-first pedestrian bridge, printed on a 3D printer
Alcobendas in Spain introduced the world's first concrete bridge, entirely printed on a 3D printer. The bridge is 12 m in length and 1.75 meters in width and is located in the city Park Castile-La Mancha.
The design of the project was developed by the Institute for advanced architecture of Catalonia (IAAC). The bridge consists of eight separate parts, created in the style of organic and biomimetic architecture. At the same time, due to the peculiarities of technology, it is practically worthless.
3D printing allows you to reuse the excess material, which are formed during operation, and to create objects of any shape and complexity. And the structure that mimic the tissue of living organisms, gives printed products of extraordinary strength.
According to the company responsible for printing bridge, a successful project gives hope that in the near future in Spain will be a new urban objects created on a 3D printer. Moreover, the range of application of this technology can range from print items of "street furniture" — benches, phone boxes and rubbish bins, to projects of preservation of historical and cultural heritage. published
P. S. And remember, only by changing their consumption — together we change the world! ©
