Britain broke the record for the development of wind energy
Wind energy the UK has taken another turn, first developed more than 10 000 MW*h of electricity with the help of land and sea turbines.
This was reported by the trade Association RenewableUK, which noted that wind farms of Britain now provide 23% of the country's needs. "It is great to see wind energy hits new record, says the Executive Director of RenewableUK Emma Pinchbeck. — This shows that the wind plays an increasing role in modern power system. And once we build the new turbine, there will be new records."
Britain occupies a leading position among the world powers in the transition to renewable energy sources, in particular wind energy. According to RenewableUK, onshore wind farms produce more than 9,000 MWh, and the sea — almost 6,000 MW*h in addition, a number of projects in process of construction.
Despite the fact that the UK authorities had previously said that it will no longer subsidize terrestrial wind farms, wind energy continues to occupy a dominant position among renewables in the country, and it seems that this trend will not change in the coming years.
By 2020, the first offshore wind power plant to appear in Russia. Capacity of wind turbines in the White sea will be 60 MW.published
