Organic solar battery

Scientists have developed a process of aggregation of new semiconductor polymers under conditions of strict temperature control.

The results showed the possibility of achieving a record efficiency (10,8 %) polymer solar cells use a variety of fullerenes and photoactive film thickness. Fullerene — acceptor material, which is mixed with the donor material applied to the surface of the future photovoltaic devices.

These solar cells have a nearly perfect morphology of the active layer and do not require precise thickness control, and therefore highly compatible with existing methods of mass production stamping and roll treatment.

The study also opens a wide field for experiments with various chemical compositions of polymer solar cells that will contribute to the further improvement of their functional characteristics. published
