London fan-shaped bridge
The architects of the company «Knight Architects», together with engineers «AKT», developed and put into operation the original footbridge in London's Paddington. The main feature of the bridge - the principle of operation of the fan.
The bridge consists of five steel beams, which then add up, then laying out, just create the same effect of the fan. The first beam is raised to an angle of 70 degrees. The total length of the bridge is twenty meters. As you can imagine, fan effect of the bridge was designed entirely by chance. Such a construction is necessary in order to pass through the channel of the vessel. At one time, this project has become "the best dynamic architectural sculpture of the year».
