Three Soviet tanks crushed a column of military vehicles, surpassing them in number up to ten times. This is not a tale of mighty heroes - a chronicle of the Great Patriotic War. The operation was a young officer Vladimir Petrovich Hazov. Personally destroyed in this battle 8 German tanks, he proved that one soldier in the field.

June 15, 1942, Vladimir Hazov was ordered to stop the impending enemy tank column near the village Olhovatka. Time to plan the operation was not, and platoon lieutenant Hazova of three military vehicles moved into the specified area.



The young officer thought that the most effective weapon - surprise, therefore, it was decided to operate from the shelter. The area is perfect for an ambush - next to the road leading to the Olkhovatka, settled grove, where it was decided to hide military vehicles.

And on the horizon, German T-IV, Hazov began to count - 27 tanks were coming like thunder on the grove. The commander took the daring decision to skip the column and start shooting from the rear.

Three T-34 opened fire on the enemy, was attached to the tail of the enemy column.

From frequent and accurate shots, one after another lit up the German tanks. From them on fire jumped the Nazis, which became the target of Soviet machine guns.



In this battle, which lasted just over an hour, not spared neither the enemy machine and in full platoon returned to the battalion.

Vladimir Petrovich Hazov spent less than a year on the front, the war ended for him in September 1942. He died in the battle of Stalingrad and buried in a mass grave on Mamayev Hill.

On the personal account of a young officer destroyed 27 enemy tanks. For Service to the Motherland Hazov was awarded the highest honor - in November 1942, he was posthumously awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union.
