Child sacrifices in Peru (tough!)

Archaeologists have discovered the remains of 42 children and 74 llamas and other camelids, which were sacrificed 800 years ago in the fishing village Huanchakito, Peru.

Scientists believe it was a massive sacrifice during a religious ceremony preceded the Incas Chimu culture, designed to increase the fertility of the land and ocean. Oscar Gabriel Prieto, head of the expedition, said that this is the burial of the victims - the largest of all the burials found Chimu culture.
