History knows many cases when the newly released game console market suffered an epic failure. Most of them are just bad platforms that either lacked the performance and competitive software or the right niche in the market. Some, however, had a good chance of success if these chances were missed due to problems in management, marketing missteps or lack of connections with third-party game developers.
