The naked mole rat (naked mole rat) - a burrowing rodent family Blesmol. Is uniquely mammalian social systems, cold-blooded, insensitive to acids, insensitivity to pain, endurance to the concentrations of CO2. Is the longest-lived of rodents (under 28 years).

In connection with an underground way of life, they have very poor eyesight. But it is replaced perfectly developed sense of smell and touch. On the muzzle and tail of the diggers are located sensitive hairs - whiskers that allow them to move smartly in their labyrinths.

When you first look at them, are evident large incisors. They help these little animals to handle multiple tasks, chief among which is the digging of tunnels. That while the land is not transferred to the mouth, teeth isolated labial appendages. As such teeth is very convenient to eat a variety of tubers, roots and bulbs of plants and protect your house from enemies, chief among which are the snakes.

Socially structure colony of naked mole rats is similar to the structure of insect colonies.
At the head of the colony is the only female-producing (uterus, or queen), which mates with only 2 - 3 males, and their ratio remains constant over the years.
All other diggers, females and males, are working individuals.
Physiologically, they are able to replicate, but do not participate in it, still in the colony (usually, a lifetime).
Like many social insects, if you remove the uterus from the colony, several working females enter into a fierce fight for the place of the Queen.
When the female becomes a queen, it significantly increases in size; in adults this is due to the increase of the distance between the vertebrae.
Naked mole rats - gomokoprofagi, that is, they eat each other's feces.
The largest sterile individuals are a kind of "food barrels," accumulating in your body excrement in the period when food is abundant, and acting as a warehouse emergency reserve when food enough.
