Scientists from Heriot-Watt University (UK) found off the coast of Scotland a huge colony of molluscs, whose total number is estimated at 100 mln.
Shellfish have orange tentacles located between two shell valves, so that they resemble clams living in tropical vodah.
Scientists have given the official name mean Limaria hians. The diameter of the clamshell is 4 sm.
Limaria hians formed at the bottom of a vast colony. It covers 75 gektarov.
